Overview

I should start by saying that ROBLOX is , in my opinion, a free and online version of Minecraft.

ROBLOX is a game primarily targeted at kids which has over 178,000,000 active accounts

However that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth your time.

Basically roblox is an online multi-player platform which allows users to play as well as create millions of games. In all honesty, it does definitely allow you more freedom that Minecraft in the sense that it literally lets anyone program and design their own game while also being able to play millions of other games – for free.

The graphics are also certainly more than one would expect from an online game, but the graphics don’t even matter since ROBLOX is as fun as the person playing is able to make it.

I believe the pure ability to create whatever you want through programming and designing while socializing with your friends simultaneously is what separate ROBLOX from its competitors.

Even though some segments of its community are sketchy, parents should feel entirely confident letting their kids play this game.

I’ll say it blatantly: this game is entertaining, educational, safe and most certainly worth the time for whoever chooses to play it.

It’s extensive library of game play, studio feature, and supportive staff and player community make ROBLOX a platform which everyone is able to enjoy, this making it worth the while.

NBA YoungBoy

Genre: Rap , Hip Hop

Sub-genre: Drill

YoungBoy Never Broke Again, also known as NBA YoungBoy, was born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden on October 20, 1999. Throughout his career, YoungBoy has been known for his aggressive, drill-like although soulful music. Since so many rappers falsify events just to get good lyrics or media, it is refreshing to be able to listen to a rapper which has certainly endured everything he raps about. One issue I have with YoungBoy is his seemingly career-limiting inconsistency, meaning that he is usually unable to create great tracks regularly.

The best facet of YoungBoy’s music, without a doubt, is his lyrics. He raps about real-life events which actually matter, unlike some rappers which talk about materialistic things to make up for their own lyric’s lack of originality and soulfulness. Even though some may think YoungBoy may overuse the topics he raps about, I still find comfort in the fact that he does not constantly rap about drug abuse like so many other rappers.

YoungBoy’s flow is a major part of his career which he could improve on. For the most part, YoungBoy only possesses one type of flow. This means that, in every song, the listener is never surprised with the way YoungBoy delivers his lyrics. This, in a way, makes every song seem repetitive as time after time the listener is given music which sounds the same as what they’ve already heard. I believe that if YoungBoy were to work on unlocking new flows, he’d expand his career’s horizon greatly.

Despite the fact that many people find drill or “gangsta” music to be too aggressive or “angry-sounding”, I think it’s a great thing that drill artists like YoungBoy exist so the industry’s sub-genres remain diversified. It should also be mentioned that the sound of YoungBoy’s songs, for the most part, makes you feel some sort of way, unlike other music.

Although some people may dislike his aggressive flow, I certainly believe that YoungBoy is able to deliver a clear story within his lyrics which will make each listener “feel a way”. If he continues to work on his music, I believe YoungBoy has the potential to be a top ten new rapper.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Overview:

For most people, such a game does not need any introduction. However, for the small minority, Skyrim is a role playing fantasy game based in a civil war torn country. It is the 5th installment in The Elder Scrolls series and has won numerous awards such as, “PC Game of the Year”, “RPG of the Year”, and “Overall Game of the Year”.

The story is, in this phrase, mind blowing. Very few games are able to attain such a level of greatness in a narrative, and no game can compare to Skyrim.

Despite the fact that it will never be seen as Bethesda’s best game, it has many key components which do not make it their best title. The graphics, although not fantastic, are still great. Despite the lack of ultra-realistic graphics, the game is still extremely enjoyable since you become fully immersed in Bethesda’s medieval-esque fantasy world.

The story is, in this phrase, mind blowing.

The game play is pretty good, the fighting system works nicely and the player is really able to be immersed while adventuring. But really, as I’ve already stated, the narrative the game is able to deliver will top any other facet of this game no matter how impressive they may be.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Over all, it is entirely worth the hefty price it has for the simple fact that it is a whole experience to play Skyrim

Wonderboom

Overview

When paying anywhere from 80-130$ for a speaker, it is utterly reasonable for one to expect the device to work, for the most part, without issue. Being an owner of a WonderBoom speaker, I can easily say that I was and still am completely satisfied with having paid that much for the product.

The different variations of the speaker, all equal in quality.

I’ve had my personal one for approximately six months and still have yet to face any technical or general issue with the device.

Considering its manageable, relatively small size, the speaker is quite impressive in regard to how loud it can play music at a high quality. The bass should also be mentioned due to the fact that even though the speaker itself is the size of a large apple, you can still feel the bass send vibrations through your body while holding it.

Many other features make the speaker worth buying though, such as its convenient portability, durability, waterproof body, and 10 hour battery life. All of the facets ensure that this product would be a great gift for anyone, regardless of what their preferences are.

In conclusion, the speaker is what it should be, a speaker. It works without delay or issue and is able to change the atmosphere of an entire room almost instantly. Due to that fact, I can easily say it is worth its retail price.

Red Dead Redemption 2

If one statement could perfectly encapsulate my opinion on Red Dead Redemption 2, it would be, “The game that should have been crowned game of the year last year.”

Being such a large game, I don’t even know where to start without spoiling it for those who have yet to complete this amazing adventure.

Apart from the technical and visual masterpiece that it is, Red Dead Redemption 2 also has one of the most beautiful and immersive stories I’ve ever experienced in a game.

The story itself has many unique and diversely traited characters and possesses what is, in my opinion, extremely well written dialogue.

One critical feature that makes this game amazing is how it is able to balance the story and the open world. In some games, you are entirely engulfed by the story as you proceed mission after mission after mission. In others, you are left with minimal story and are essentially dumped in the middle of an open world without any purpose.

The game that should have been crowned game of the year last year.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, it gives you the ability to choose how much you involve yourself in the story, while also offering many interesting tasks which could be completed outside of the main storyline.

Juice WRLD

Sub-genre: Trap, Emo Rap

Juice WRLD, born Jarad Higgins, is one of the most prominent new-school rappers to join the industry. He is mostly associated with music relating to heartbreak and drug abuse. Although opinions on the quality of his music may vary, below I have provided a chart to determine how good he is, in my opinion.

Lyrics:  79

Some of his lyrics sound like what could easily be classified as  “typical” rap. Of course, by this I mean that the mentions of drug abuse through out his songs sometimes manage to drain the lyrics of any deeper message. In fact, he seems to recycle his lyrics enough that we now instantly associate him with heartbreak and drug use.

Flow: 96

Juice WRLD has proven many times that he has already unlocked many different flows. For one example, everyone agrees that listening to “Lucid Dreams” is a very different experience than listening to “Nuketown”. To sum it up, even if you disagree with whatever message he is sending with his lyrics, you can still appreciate how well he delivers said message.

Although many people do not appreciate the goth/punk style which Juice promotes, I believe he rocks it incredibly well. I believe that both his personality as well as his music contribute to how well he presents his own, unique style.

Despite the fact that he may be caught recycling themes or phrases in his songs, his unique style and flow make his a prominent, young star with a bright future. I would not be surprised if his score improved as he grows musically.

NBA2K19

What is NBA2K19?

Is it a nearly limitless multiplayer competitive basketball game in which you as well as your friends will find infinite entertainment?

Well, that’s what it is supposed to be, but it really isn’t. It is an even sadder truth that the game would actually be above-average if it was not littered with micro-transactions, sometimes game-breaking bugs, and repetitive gameplay.

It is so obvious that the game was not made for your enjoyment, but rather your money. The developers seem fairly careless to the matter that their gameplay has been recycled throughout the existence of their entire game franchise.

Of course, the game does incentivize you to play well by offering virtual currency, etcetera. But, after you’ve done that, you are left with the question of “what now?”.

Despite the point that the game offers various modes (MyGM, MyLeague, MyCareer), each mode still bares the unbearable sensation of ennui while you joylessly tap away at your controller or keyboard.

Of course, the game does incentivize you to play well by offering virtual currency, etcetera. But, after you’ve done that, you are left with the question of “what now?”.

The game is not entirely horrible, though. There are many aspects of the game which are above par compared to other games. One example is the graphics quality.

It is an ongoing joke that NBA2K19 destroys its competitors when it comes to graphical quality, but it’s true. But, all in all there is one simple statement which should be said to any consumer who is considering making this purchase;

“If you want NBA2K18 with a new name, buy this. If you want a basketball game which puts individual skill above how much money you spend on the game, find something else.”

Minecraft

 Minecraft. From the moment it was released in 2009, it was obvious that it was bound to become a “classic” game. I have an issue with reviewing this game due to the simple fact that there is actually very little wrong with it.

It provides a literally endless environment filled with diverse biomes to roam in which the player can do whatever they want.

The multiplayer feature allows you to make it more entertaining by experiencing it with your friends. The graphics are, in their own respect, fairly decent.

The gameplay, although it can be sometimes repetitive, is always filled with excitement since Minecraft is one of the few games that gives you complete power to do whatever you want.

Really, even though I may have some bias since I’ve played it for years, it is worth the purchase. Not only is it an extremely high quality game, but the price is fairly cheap when you think about how worse games have cost more.

It is a fact that out of every game, Minecraft definitely has garnered the best, most creative online fanbase and community imaginable.

In conclusion, the real beauty of lies in its simplicity, making it worth every cent of its thirty dollar price tag.
